 in response to nonni...   Contact your Dr. if he is on O2, they can write a letter on your behalf to the power company since he is on oxygen, this will give you a little time . The cars are not a life threatening situation. Go to your Dept of Health and Human services....they maybe able to help you with Emergency assistance 1 time per year. Check with your church they have resources. you call also call in the US a 211 for more help

 in response to mama75...   THink about this....you are in a motel...you are paying a daily rate that is higher than paying a months rent in a home. Where is the money coming from to pay this motel ? Even if you are paying $40.00 per night thats 1,200.00 a month..then add on the food (I am sure you are not cooking meals in a motel) that is more than enough to get an apt, maybe not a luxury place, but a roof over your head...and another thing, its not about making you or your kids life happier its about providing and using what you have more sensibly. Apply for the food stamps and the TANF. they are more apt to help a person with children...Im not bashing you, its just that the money needs to be better spent right now

 in response to mybabyluvsme...   1 thing at a time, take that useless check to the police dept..and file a report. let the go after the person who wrote the bad check. Being that you have a small child they are more apt to help you than a 55 yrs old woman with no children. There is TANF. check with your State Health and Human services office. Did you apply for unemployment? Apply for it even if you get a denial letter. That denial letter will help you when applying for services to churches and other organizations.

 in response to daisy28...   I know that some dental schools may be able to help you out....they would be made by "students".....possibly check some of the schools around you. They dont advertise this but they may help if you talk to them about your situation

I am a 55 yr old woman with no family. I was duped by an employer who stole my Identity and refused to pay me for the Homehealth care she received and then fired me because I expected to be paid. I am only elligible for 26.00 wk unemployment and cant pay my rent. Since i am not a SR Citizen I cant get help, since I dont have children under 18 I can get no help. I Need help and dont know where to turn..Health and Human resources will not help. I live in an area where there is no homeless shelters. I am an Army Vet, but the Va will not help, including the homeless co ordinator.
